iTunes to iPad syncing

I hate iTunes.

I have a couple hundred books on my iPad and I want to add a few more to it from my PC.
when I go to click Sync Books I get this message.

Are you sure you want to sync books? All existing books on the iPad "name" will be replaced with books from your iTunes library.

Does this mean that my couple of hundred books will be deleted and only the new ones will be there when done?
